I have been working with Comsoft Business Solutions, an IT service company, for many years. Together we have been working on various applications packages and various systems that can be used by small companies.

One of the services they set us up was a Virtual Server System called Samba that ties all the computers together in all of our business locations. We use this to pass monument designs and other documents between locations instantly. In the past we had to emial them between locations which creates other issues, such as who has the current version of the design. With Comsoft's Samba Virtual Server System I can save a monument designs directly to the server and the salesman at the cemetery can access the file directly off the server instantly. This saves us lots of travel time because the Virtual Server System the server can actually be accessed from anywhere in the world. The connection to the server is highly encrypted and highly secure.

Installation of the necessary software only took about 10 minutes per work station and Comsoft will remotely access your computer and help with the install. Once the software was installed each workstation have access to shared folders and data as well as a private folder they can use any way they want. With these folders you can share files as well as picture, document, and spreadsheet files.

Using the system is extremely simple. After starting your computer you will need to log into a secure VPN to access your shared folders on the Samba Virtual Server System. Nobody else has access to the folder unless you give them access to the VPN. When you are using any monument software like Gerber, MonuCad or Microsoft Word you simply save the document directly to the folder on the Virtual Server.

Comsoft also providing us with other software they included with the Virtual Server System that I never knew existed. They provide a remote desktop program that allows them to remotely access my PC 's when I need help with software installation or just general computer troubleshooting. They also provided us with a Microsoft Office look alike program called Open Office which provides all of the features of Microsoft Office. They also have a program for compressing files called 7zip that minimizes the size of files so they take up less space on your hard drive or server folder. Comsoft also performs daily backups of all of their servers and they keep the backup on a 30 day rotation. With this backup strategy your data will always be safe.

Since this package ties all your systems together you can even share remote printers in other locations. Comsoft Virtual Server System works with Windows XP, Windows 10 ans the new Windows 11
